British actor Henry Cavill is certainly a head turner. Maybe it’s because the celeb always looks great on screen, regardless of the role he’s playing. Or it could be the impressive fact that Cavill knows how to speak a little bit of Italian and French—and whatever country he’s traveling to, he tries to learn how to order a beer in that language. One thing’s for sure: Cavill is rocking life at 39, and we have his healthy fitness and diet habits on deck. Read on to learn more.
Cavill has brought us many favorite roles, including Superman in “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” along with Sherlock Holmes in “Enola Holmes,” just to name a few. Most recently, he brought monster hunter Geralt of Rivia to Netflix viewers in “The Witcher.” Two seasons of the super-popular series have aired, and although it has not yet been confirmed when Season 3 will launch on Netflix, Collider reports filming will finish up this September. It’s safe to say, fans are hyped.

Henry Cavill stays active and shares some of his healthy goodness with his 21.5M followers on Instagram. Earlier this spring, he posted a picture with his girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso, while participating in the Durrell Challenge, a 13K road race and virtual run.
Cavill is the ambassador of the spectacular Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which strives to save the world’s animal species that face extinction. Cavill’s post is captioned, “Our Durrell Challenge is officially complete! We decided to walk it today, mostly because I’ve had the nine shades of hell beaten out of me through two weeks of fight scenes, and ma body wasn’t ready for a 13km run! I also suspect that Natalie may have broken her foot a little while ago, so I’m utlising her injury as a convenient excuse for me! I hope you’ve all enjoyed your Durrell challenge experiences so far.” The post received over 2K likes, and the comments are fitting for the man of steel, filled with love, hearts, and plenty of muscle emojis.
Leading up to this year’s challenge, the actor posted an Instagram carousel of him participating in the challenge over the years, captioning it, “Different years, different gears, and even a superteam slaying mustache! All during the Durrell Challenge. Which, once again, fast approaches.”
He explains to Men’s Health that the Durrell Challenge is an event he highly anticipates each and every year. “It’s a wonderful run and you can take it seriously, or you can run it at a more comfortable pace and I love it. I genuinely do,” he says.
According to Men’s Health, Cavill works hard to maintain a healthy, fit body. Not only does he stand 6 feet tall, but he has a “superhuman physique” on and off the screen. How does he do it? Well, he tells Men’s Health, “Out of all the things I’ve done in the past, I think the fasted cardio stuff is actually working best for me,” adding, “I’m in the best shape of my life.”

As far as eating habits are concerned, Cavill makes his choices part of his life. He says, “I think I’m kind of finding my pace now in more of a lifestyle thing. Like, I can do this training and it’ll make me look a certain way. I’ll make sure my food is right, but I don’t feel like I’m on a diet all the time” (via Men’s Health).
We’re not exaggerating when we say the star bulks up on a whole lot of protein. That means scrambled eggs with a side of steak and an oatmeal protein shake for breakfast. His drink of choice? Rosemary water.
Cavill’s first lunch—yup, you heard that right!—consists of even more protein, something like curry chicken along with jasmine rice and an apple. An example of the star’s second lunch? Roasted chicken and potatoes with curry sauce. We never knew Superman was a major curry fan, did you?
Dinnertime means bison steak, which provides fewer calories than fattier cuts of meat and is chock-full of natural creatine. The side for the last meal of the day is brown rice pasta. And after he wraps up dinner, Cavill moves on to a protein shake for “supper.”
Nobody’s eating routine is complete without a cheat day now and then, and Cavill is no exception. Deep dish pizza is a favorite choice, but Cavill’s philosophy about cheat days is not to worry much about what he consumes on those given dates. He explains, “I can have three cheat days in a row if I want—and then knuckle down, be good for a while and get back to a certain point. You know where your baseline is.” Sounds like a good plan to us!
